Can you skydive all year round? Skydiving and the seasons

When does the skydiving season last in Poland?

In Polish conditions, the tandem skydiving season usually lasts from spring to autumn — most often roughly from April to October. This is the period when the weather most often allows safe and comfortable jumping. The exact timeframe depends on the drop zone and the current weather conditions in a given year.

Spring — the start of the season

In spring, nature comes back to life, and the views from above can be exceptionally green and vivid. However, it is worth remembering that:

  • It can be chilly, especially at altitude — layers of clothing are key
  • The weather can be changeable, so a flexible date is essential
  • It is a good time to book before the peak season begins

Summer — peak season

Summer is the most popular time for jumps. Long days and more often stable weather provide the most opportunities to jump. It is worth knowing that:

  • The best conditions are usually in the morning and late afternoon — in the middle of a hot day, thermals and turbulence appear
  • During peak season, dates fill up faster, so it is worth booking in advance
  • Water, a hat, and sun protection will come in handy while waiting at the drop zone

Autumn — spectacular views

Early autumn can be one of the most beautiful periods for jumps — colorful forests seen from above make a huge impression, and the air is often clear. However, the days are shorter and the temperature is lower, so warm layers and flexibility with the date matter again.

What about winter?

In winter, tandem jumps in Poland are carried out less often or suspended — mainly due to short days, low temperatures, and frequent unfavorable conditions (low cloud base, icing, limited visibility). If you dream of a winter jump, it is best to contact the drop zone and ask about availability.

Which season is best for a first jump?

There is no single perfect answer — each season has its own charm:

  • Want the greatest chance of a quick date and warmth? Choose summer
  • Care about views and smaller crowds? Consider spring or early autumn

Regardless of the season, flexibility is the most important thing: whether we jump on a given day is always decided by the current weather.
