There are two ways to start with parachuting: a tandem jump and the AFF course. They differ in purpose, price, and what you get at the end.
Tandem jump — adventure without commitments
Tandem is a jump attached to an instructor. You don't need to know anything — a short ground training and you're off. It's the best choice if you want to experience freefall once in your life or give someone an unforgettable experience.
- No prior experience needed.
- Short preparation on the same day.
- The instructor is responsible for opening and landing.
AFF Course — first step to a license
AFF (Accelerated Freefall) is training that teaches you to jump independently. From the first jump, you fall with your own parachute, assisted by instructors who gradually guide you less. It's the beginning of the path to a jumper's license.
- For those who want to jump regularly.
- Theory plus jumps at successive levels.
- In the end, you jump independently.
Which to choose
- Want to try once or give a gift — choose tandem.
- Caught the bug and thinking about regular jumps — choose AFF.
- Not sure — start with tandem, and if it hooks you, move to AFF.
Is tandem required before AFF
Tandem is not formally required before AFF, but many students start with it — to get used to freefall before starting training.
